Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Flying Fish

Hi All,
Taken down at Carss Park on Australia Day. Breaks all the rules of thirds, etc, but not bad for a Tamron at nearly full extension.

Only PP was a levels adjustment, crop to A4 dimensions and a little bit of USM.

Image

Edit: Just printed up to A4, spotted 4 dust bunnies, glad I'm going to the mini-meet on Saturday

Nice shot! Handy how the cloud hides the string too, really adds to the look of flying :)

Really nice pic... the composition of the clouds and the saturated colors.

Nice photo indeed John, when it gets windy in Sydney anyone interested in taking some photos of some of my stunt kites? They look a lot less like a fish though!!

if it was any other photo, I'd say it looks too saturated, and too much contrast, but in this shot, it REALLY makes the shot.

great pic!

The colours are great.

Sure, refusal to conform to the rule of thirds, but it conforms with 'Neat and in the middle'. (And it is pointing to one top corner of the frame.)

G'day,
The saturated colors and sharpness of the kite seems to make it just about pop out at you... Good PP for the subject.

Cheers,

Johndec - I too like kites and your photo. The clouds really help it.

I missed the clouds in this one.
