I just finished working on this photo. As the father's skin was a little darker than his older son's, and a lot darker than his youngest, I had to darken the youngest face, and lighten the father's face, and I think I lightened the older sons face as well. Thought I would post this as we had a discussion here once upon a time about placing darker skinned people towards the front and lighter skinned towards the back. Luckily this wasn't a ton of work as there is only three, a group of 25 would be a little more difficult I think. Let me know what you think (I guess I should post the original as well eh?)

the shot looks fine.... but i would like to see the original so that i can compare...

dooda, im not sure what the previous discussion was , but im of the opinion that,when using fill flash, placing the darker at the front, lighter at back will work best . The fall off of flash will reduce help balance their skin contrast.


Nice pose. Framed tighter would help emphasis,welll unless where they are is important to the story...(Backgrounds abit distracting isnt it?)

Dooda, that's a beautiful pic. WHatever magic you did, don't change a thing!

I don't think you could frame it much tighter, without cropping feet and heads off .. maybe a little.

Nice lighting, if that was me I'd be very happy with that photo.

I agree with Onyx, It's very pleasing to look at as is. Whatever shop work you have done - leave it at that. To me it's well composed and the three faces appear very natural and illumination across alll three is fine - just my 20 cents worth.
