Had my first play with the SB 800 this morning & I must say what an awesome flash
Here are some of the images
There’s allot of room for improvement in settings, I am looking forward to getting to know this flash more as I use it.
Besides you get a lot of comments walking around with a setup like this, I was continually asked, was I from the local paper. “I wish!!!!” :?

Thanks onyx :D

The first 2 are, Flash -2
The last 2 are, Sun -3

That is one of the settings I haven’t settled on yet.
I will get it fine tuned some day after playing a bit more.

Cheers

If I loan you a 70-200VR with the SB800 you have, people may think you work for the FairFax and if you wear a photo vest that I have they will run and looking somewhere to hide far away coz they think something happens and the SWAT team arrived. lol.

Great shots, btw

Raydar,
have you used the 5th battery with it?
If yes,Very fast recycling isn't it?

Just so happens I used the fifth battery today, very quick!!!!!!!
On that subject, that would be the only flaw I have come across so far with the flash.
The door on the flash that you have to remove to install the fifth battery has a strange way of coming off :? :?
What do you think????

That's usual, I was scared to break it at the first moment, once I tried to remove the door of the SB800, and re-read the manual again, pressed it little bit hard and it off.
Was scary for few peolpe at the first time, pack the little plastic door away, you won't be able to order it quick once you lost. I knew one guy was waiting for couple month now and it's around $25.00.
Mine I put it (two) back in the original boxes, just in case I know and remember, once I need it.

The same feelings I had :?
I keep mine raped in the plastic bag the fifth battery pack came in & in the small pouch in the SB 800 soft case.
Every thing that comes with the flash apart from the diffuser dome will fit in the soft case 8)

Don't store it there Raydar, the small pocket inside is useless, it easy to fall off without any notice, I got caught three times and I put them away, won't need the door, I always pack fresh and extra juice with me with the fifth.

I think I will take your advice on that one birddog.
After spending this much there’s no point spending more :?

Thanks

Ray,

I'm with Birddog in not keeping the door flap in the carry pouch.

If you mount the dome onto the flash head, it will fit into the pouch too.

Funny you should say that about the dome.
That’s what I do & forgot to mention it :?
