Just posting some pics of Lake Matheson and Mount Tasman at sunrise. All taken with the Canon A85. Minimal PP, just shot like I would for slides.

Looking forward to hearing comments from all.

Nice shots! I really like the first one, the sun streaming over the top of the mountain is beautiful, highlighted by the lovely still reflection in the lake. What time of day did you take these to get that light?

The first two look very noisy to me (especially the water in the foregound of the first one). Is this a conversion artifact or was this part most in need of PP?

Despite this I like the first 2 shots - the rays of the sun off the mountain work really well and the two with the lake reflection of the mountains.

Wow, the interesting light and reflections make for great images, I must admit I noticed what I thought was noise too... Is it in the "original" shots, or introduced in PP or shrinking for web etc?

Favorite for me would have to be the last one, great reflections, the water looks like a mirror...

Cheers,

There was minimal PP on the images. The noise IMO was created as I think I had the ISO set to 200 or 400 rather than 50, and the small point and shoot cameras like the Canon A85 are not really good for that. I found it works best when I leave the ISO setting on 50.

Will do some PP and try to clear up the noise.

Thanks
