That's a neat "trick" to get the sync.
I love the idea of being able to "freeze" water in that way - particularly with normal gear.
Now to find a D70, SB800 and a bowl of water ...
My only question is does this taping of the contacts affect or risk the flash unit in any way? You know shorten it's life, run the risk of a puff of greasy smoke coming from the unit or whatever?
Cheers,
Gordon.

That's an great shot... I like the dappled images in the drops, and the black blackground really makes the subject really stand out...
Oh, and Gordon, I don't think it would hurt the flash or the body, lotsa people have done it and I haven't heard of anyone frying their body or flash... but more experienced members here will confirm...
Cheers,
Mudder

Hi jeocsa.
I wonder what you could shoot at that speed, 1/6400 !!!
I did a photo using the flash
and shutter set to 1/500 sec.
1/500 sec "froze" the drops nicely.
Cheers

Mudder thanks for the response. I thought that it was most likely not a problem. But then as someone said "the only dumb question is the one you didn't ask"!
Cheers,
Gordon.
