some pretty nice holiday pics Owen. I think the wharf shots look like they belong in a brouche or something - and I'm always a sucker for time exposed water.

Nice shooting - keen to see more!

Cheers,

Thanks mate. I'm just about to print one out and see how it goes... have to see how the ol' ink tanks hold out :D lol

Love the long exposure water photos, did you use an ND filter, or just do it early morning or late afternoon?

Hi Brembo.

I went down after sunset... so it was probably around 8 - 8:30 or thereabouts. I was fretting because I took my D70 down on a sandy beach but it seems to have come through unscathed.

Cheers,
Owen.

Owen a very nice collection shots and well worth going down at the time you did. I too like the slow shutter speed shots of the water - it almost looks like mist

Yep. It looks almost peaceful - a complete contrast to what it actually was like, it was VERY rough and the waves were pounding away at the rocks :)

Thanks for the comment.

Great, much better than normal 'holiday snaps'

I especially like 'pinksky.jpg'. The illusion of the mist is fantastic. You've done really well to get these pics. I like them heaps.

As an afterthought, after i had another look at them, i would have cloned the lights out on the houses in the background. This would give it a more of a secluded look. Perhaps a bit of a crop of the sky where it looks a bit blown too.

Just food for thought..

I reckon your photo would look great printed and framed.

Great pics all 'round.

Thanks for sharing

Thanks KillaKoala.

When I was home I did have a go of cropping the two shots that have blown in the top right corner and they seem to be quite a bit better, I'll have an experiment with the lights and see how they look (I can't say I even bothered to look much at the houses in the background!) :)

Kind regards,
Owen.
