Hi all,

First off, i'd like to thank Matt for his excellent photoshop tutorial and Birdy for being an excellent host. It was really good to meet some of you guys at the weekend.

Anyway, thanks to Matts tutorial I had a bash at photoshopping an image I took camping at Pittwater at the weekend. I have cut the image along the horizon and adjusted the levels and saturation of both the water/ground and the sky seperately to try and get it closer to what I saw at the time and enhance the shadow of the boat. Has anyone got any comments, do you think I overdid it, or does it still look natural?

Not bad. You have held the serenity of the scene. Maybe the sky could be just a little darker? For a special effect maybe ..Render/lighting and put a bit of a spotlight on the boat...then reduce it with Edit/fade lighting.

Maybe try and make 3 different versions of the scene altering the mood for each one? That's a great way to learn the finer points of the program.

Ah - yeah, it would help to include the original eh?

Whilst i'm replying, do you think it could benefit from cropping so as to remove the small triangle of sand in the bottom left, I wasn't sure...

That's a nice rework from the original. Mattk's suggestion sounds interesting to with the special effects lighting

Thanks for the feedback! I'll try out producing several different versions as per your suggestion Matt. I tried the spotlight last night, that's a very powerful tool. I think this one might be worth printing

I would saturate the reds a tad more. All in all a nice shot of tranquillity. Max
