I am wondering if you stiched a panorama or cropped a very wide angle lens for this one as there seems to be some distortion on the far left of the image.

It was taken around 4.50 am at the whitebay docks with a d70 kit lense, it's stiched as a horizontal pano.
The first side is distorted because I had to hold the camera up during this exposure, the tripod didn't allow enough height on the declined slope to the tall fence. When I checked the preview the shot didn't look distorted so its hard to tell -- especially at that hour. Luckily I could balance it on the fence slightly and snap a pano. Probably a better idea as it was faster to setup and take before a security personnel arrived to tell me I was in a restricted area (never used to be) before the old Glebe Is. bridge.

That's a very nice lense! worst part about security is if they confiscate the camera. Happened to a friend of mine who likes to take inside fotos of places such as office buildings, train stations etc.. All of which are not allowed.

Posted: Sun Feb 13, 2005 10:17 amI did a shoot at the airport about 3 years ago when this big burly security person approached and asked me to leave. I said no as I was on an offcial shoot for the Airport Authority, he checked said it was OK but stayed with me all of the time I was shooting.
But how times have changed. In 2000 I walked into Gordon Shopping Centre with two models and did a shoot over a 4 hour period and not one person came near me!!!
In the old days of film, and if you were in a restricted area, they used to confiscate the film. No one will ever take my camera from me because I will delete the pics in front of their eyes or do a card swap for the 32Mb in my pocket

I used Arcsoft Panorama Maker, I also sometimes use panorama factory.
