I was out taking some photos today with my IR converted D70 I want to know does this HDR thing work for IR shots?

here is my first shot at it

Great, would like to see the top of the bigger tree though. In terms of the tones it's awesome.

I like it. the IR look is awesome, love to learn more about this.

in this image, I like the "white" palm leaves!

I was not thinking about HDR when I took this shot it was just when I noticed I had taken the almost identical shots at different exposures i thought I would give it a crack.

I will definitely be thinking about this when I am taking IR shots again.

OZ_beachside I noticed you live in Melb, I would be happy to lend you the camera for an afternoon if you are interested.

Instead of selling my d70 when I got the d200 I IR converted it care of DaveB (another member here)

I would have liked the green whiter and a little bit of colour in the sky.

not knowing much about IR here but i was pretty sure the way to take/make an IR photo was by putting an IR lens filter onto your camera?

maybe i'm wrong and you need to tweak your camera?

Outtram that is one way (the non destructive way)

the other is to remove the ir/AA filter from the front of the sensor and replacing it with an ir pass filter.

The light meter will work and focus can be adjusted to work. another forum member here makes the mods DaveB (well that is who I got to do it) although if you can source the glass filter you can do it yourself quite easily.

I did but the lee filter i used was poly so the result was not great. I then got daveb to change the filter to a glass one that he sourced.

i really like the IR look, seen some great images on flickr using IR.

Gives you a really unique look to sometimes and not soo interesting pic

i think i'll have to get a filter version for my canon 400d
