Hi All,

Just found this image from our trip to the zoo today.

All I did in Photoshop was crop and clone out some small artifacts in the black area. Oh and of course some un-sharp mask.

What do you think?

I'm not a great fan of seagulls because they steal my fish and chips, but this is a good, pin sharp shot. Max

Beautifully sharp Woody.
Looks almost like a studio portrait.

Nice one

Wow Woody. Tell us the circumstances of the shot. How did you get the light so nice and yet have such a black background?

Ummm this could get embaressing becouse I really don't know

I beleive I set the aperture to something like 5.6 and then using spot metering I focused on his eye (and I guess the white around it) and it came out like this

Sorry I don't have the RAW image with me to check on the settings but I was usign the 70-300 lens and I think the aperture at 300mm is 5.6 when wide open?
