Monkey C&C please

Hi interested in C&C for improving next attempts at same subject

its a really nice pic of that sort of monkey
just the post processing sperating the background and subject matter is a bit much
you can achieve better seperation with depth of field

Great shot..........it rocks.....a shallower DOF in camera would have been awesome though :)

Only post processing was B/W conversion and I was so happy to finally have the exposure show the face detail (black monkey, heavy shade, with sun in my face ) that I hadn't even thought of DOF - but now you have me thinking - thanks

That's a gibbon, isn't it? If it is, it is an ape, not a monkey.

Either way it is a great shot and the face detail shows that they aren't all that distantly related from us.

Deb,

Great image. A little less sharpening, I think, as well as a square crop: I don't think that the background on the rh side of the image adds to the image, so just chop it out.
