Mt Cotton Hillclimb
Here is something different from me, artsy shots
Not sure if this one works, I was playing around at the time just trying different things.

C+C welcome (specially on the first two whether they have something to offer). All shot with the D200 + 70-200 VR (no TC) SS from 1/100th to 1/125th f8 - f13. Thanks, Brett
If you were going for something more arty, the 2nd shot with the MR2 works well. The first one is just too blurry IMHO.

Ditto, Number one is giving me a headache! Number two gets the effect you want.
love #1, real sense of speed, and is different to usual motorsport shots which i like. i like #2 but feel like the car needs to be further into the frame than what it is, just not enough space from the edge of the frame to the car.

I don't mind the 1st one.
I think the second would look even better if you had a lower perspective still (IE below the car on the hill, instead of looking down on the car and hill it would seem), to get more of a perspective of how steep the hill was ... my 2c Russell

The first one works for me. Love the sense of motion & there is a real feel of the line round the corner.
The second one works for me, but I read it more as a journey than a race. Greg

Are these from a recent event? there's been so many motorsport things lately i forgot all about Mt.Cotton..
First one, to me, looks like the car is going backwards!

Thanks for the comments all, I am not convinced on the first one, I like it being different but I don't think I really captured what I wanted. Might have a bit more of a play around next time I am out there. I might try a slower shutter still...
These were from the event held in conjunction with the Inter-Club Challenge / Ironman Series held over the weekend 21/22/23 September. It was and is a great event (even though I only made the Hillclimb on the Sunday). I was at the Indy Rally last year, but won't be attending this year, whilst it is a great event, the organisers are tied into one specific photog and will not allow anyone else any accreditation which is rather disappointing as without it there is very little opportunity for income from the event. You'll have an absolute ball Emily as the guys and girls that compete are a great bunch of people. I've finished off the gallery (well my shots anyway, awaiting the shots from the other guys), they can be found here. Next event at Mt Cotton is not until the Indy Rally (Oct 17th) and then the Australian Titles in November (2 - 4th).
Russell, This shot is actually taken from on the hill looking down to the car as it reaches the flat. The road out of frame to the right of the image actually comes pretty much up to where Brett would have been sitting/standing. Mt Cotton is an interesting place to take piccies at, and I enjoy getting out there when I can. I've just been too busy lately to do much motorsport photography at all. I would have taken some from this event on the Saturday out at QR, but the car I was racing as well, broke, so I had my mind on other things. 
Brett, I like the pics and #1 is growing on me. I agree with some of the other comments on here about #2 in that you need a bit more perspective as to where it's come from as well as the where it's going to. As usual, they are of a very high quality. Cheers Simon
Russel as Simon mentioned I was at the hairpin, to get a clear shot you are shooting over armco and also a pile of macadamia nut shells to see the hairpin which is below you.
Here are a couple of others that I tried along the lines of number 2. Coming down from the Leap Heading up the second Loop Cheers Brett

Second one is great, works fine for me. Third and fourth are well executed as well.
