Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

I took this picture last Sunday at the Mt Coo-tha Botanical Gardens. What do you think, isn't a nice speciment?

Very nice. Sharp and a great out of focus background. I think the leaf (or whatever it is) in the left of the image is a bit distracting.

Nice sharp pic of the dragon there btw... agree with the above comments about losing the leaf though... :)

I like it, the hairy eyeball effect is very cool. The background thing had me thinking mountains and dragons but maybe I have too much imagination.

Hey Zafra - lovely shot = maybe needs just a little more space on the right though - somewhere to 'move into' -jmho :)

Is it time for a minimeet at the MCootha BG??

I removed the distracting background, but I was not able to match the exact colours.

Next time get closer! :D :D :D :D Excellent shot! I would have liked more DOF but I know that it gets very difficult when you get that close.

Love the dragon,

It's inspiring me to go close to my place and try to get something as good.

Great expression.

Cheers,

Thank you for the comments, guys. Personally, I prefer the first one because it looks more natural to my eye despite the fact there is a distracting element.
