an optical illusion shot ???

looking at this pic i took tonight, my eyes play tricks on me..
sometimes it looks glass..then i can see more like a pewter... ?
... anyone else get that illusion goin on? maybe i had one too many martinis tonight :P

Definately glass - simply because you can see the glass behind through the front glass - vey nice photo tho’

I'm with Chris on the transparency through the first subject but if you were to eliminate the subsequent glasses and crop tight you could easily create the illusion of pewter or stainless steel reflecting a glass / goblet at lens distance.

Fine shot though. Good concept.

Definitly the second one. It breathes a little more and let's the shapes interact with eachother but they each own their own space. Also, there are more definitive shapes to enjoy, where the first one doesn't quite offer that effect of clean shapes.

Your pics are a nice compliment to the many different types of posts we get here.

I post my reply as a designer and not a photographer. I prefer the first one as it induces intrigue and has a main focal point especially with the second glass being seen through the glass. This kind of shot would look great too with something like Creme de Menthe in the glass.

On the second shot, although it is a nice, it reminds me too much of the receding screw photo that everyone seems to attempt at some point in their life IMO

Still 2 very good photos flipfrog PS - I had the exact same glasses but with a blue stem :D
