the sunset is very magical. I remember those types of sunsets when I was in Botswana a couple of years back. I really want to go back now!!
The carmine shot is wonderful, great capture. I saw that one on your site, very nice. Looks like the bug is just going in for a landing in the carmine's beak

Posted: Tue Oct 09, 2007 2:14 pmThis is the 5th time I've been to Africa, and there are Lodges out there that cater to photographers, such as the two in Zambia that I went to. Kaingo, for example, have photographic hides set up in strategic places so you can sit all day if you wish to get that perfect closeup 
The Hippo hide is situated right on the bank of the Luangwa River and gets you within 1-2 metres of these guys.
The guides also, are very switched on to your photographic needs and will always try and get you into a position for that perfect shot in good light.

I think there was something there about 34Gb of photos, but I assume that was a typo

that looks like a great setup for photographers. I went and had a look at their website http://www.kaingo.com/. They certainly have a great setup.
With the hides, it makes for some amazing setups and viewing.

No typo there, 34GB is how much I took.
In HSC mode @ 8 fps for alot of those bird shots, it soon adds up.

The two bird shots don't grab me particularly - a little too sparse for my tastes (but I'm not a bird enthusiast). The last image OTOH is a corker.
