Visit from a Spider

Mrs Losfp was kind enough to point out our little visitor who she discovered on her way sleepwalking to the toilet tonight. I got a couple nice and sharp, which is cool... But how on earth do the macro gurus on here get their subjects on cool backgrounds? I wouldn't have a clue how to go about moving them safely - and getting them to stay!

The only way to steady a huntsman is to put it in the freezer (not nice, and not recommended).

I don't think there is anything wrong with your background (after all, they're domestic animals :lol: ) However, much more DOF would have been good, and for that you'd have needed a lot of light...

You've nailed those eyes in the first shot!

How close did you get to take these? what lens?
