Sheepie in the City

My brother and family were over from Adelaide for the weekend, so I took the opportunity to spend a bit of time with them in the city.

Not the best of days to go taking photo's, but a couple stood out...

I like the composition in the arcade photo, A little dark on my monitor though. In that sort of situation I normally push the ISO up a little to help with the shutter speed.
Not much you can do with photos like the ship except hope for sunny days. Looks good with the bridge behind it.

Number 1 is a very nicely composed shot. I find it a bit too dark, though, and a lot of interesting details are lost because of that. Do they allow you to set up a tripod in the QVB?

#1 too dark. Run a course of D-lighting or lower the contrast.
#2 too dark. White is supposed to be white, not middle grey. Up the EV 0.7 or 1 stop.

I actually like the richness in the first one, it really works for me. No. 2 is a bit too dark.
