This is a male ruffous bettong - he came over to me to see what I was doing !!!!!

#2 is awesome. Much stronger image than the one of a similar creature in you last post. The isolation caused by the black background helps as well as the sharpness and great exposure.
These have been a great series, a very productive night indeed!

The second butterfly image is a stunner. For me, #1 is a little too bright on the butterfly and has the distracting background whereas, as Dawesy says, #2 is nicely separated from the background

Thanks everyone
I wasn't actually supposed to be taking any photos at all - it was just an insect collecting trip, but at night when the others were looking for ants and tarantulas, barking spiders and bird eating spiders, I could get away with sneaking in a few shots
