You don't hold these ones with a string

Something a little different from what I've been doing in the past is birds, and the more i follow them around the more i want to take more images, this afternoon i have finally taken some bird in flight images i feel worthy of posting here.

From looking around ive found these to be called Black Kites, all shots with D200, 70-200 sigma and 1.4x converter.

Beautiful images,Adam. For me, the best is number 3 because it is sharp and you caught it in a very good angle. Well done!

Adz, were these taken near home? Have to agree about number 3 being slightly different which makes it interesting. You should post the wedge tailed eagle chicks shots..

These are good images of the birds here btw... I know how difficult they are to capture... 2nd one for me... classic shot! :)

adame - # 3 for me. I like it because it is almost head on, extended wings and soaring angle tops the shot off.

Now where are the Wedgie chick shoots :?:
(Virgs has told me all about them, and a reasonable amount of time has past since shooting: no pressure )

Looks like I need to make a trip to Broken Hill :)

# 3 for me, nice and sharp and a really different angle.

Might be worthwhile playing and seeing if you can lighten the body a little and saturate the sky a little more,

Robert

Thanks everyone for looking and commenting, i am going to try re-shoot this on an afternoon with better light so the background skies arent as washed out.

Believe it or not these were taken around the town garbage dump, the kites seem to hang out in groups out there.

Some of the WedgetailIMAGES have been posted
