I'm taking part in the editorial work which was organised by the RMIT's fashion school.

This was a children garments shoot.

We went for outdoor setting and the weather started with pouring rain in the morning onto sunshine later in the afternoon. 38 garments overall. It was a busy but an enjoyable day

Love #2. Carefree smiling child. Great bubbles. My pick for best shot.
#1. For some reason this doesn't connect for me. Maybe its the fact the kid doesn't look like she's having fun. The colours are lovely though
#3. Too many wires, antenna and stuff coming out from the kid's head. Needs some serious clone tool work.
#4. The kid is a bit "bonny" and the dress doesn't flatter and I think she needs a different pose.

These are all my uneducated opinions. Take them all with a huge grain of salt

#1 is the only one of these that works for me.

# 2 ... her hands .... they seem totally at odds with the girl. Totally fabricated and unconnected with anything that she may be doing. And where are her feet?

#3 ... I agree with Shakey about the wires coming out of her head, but I disagree with the suggestion to se the cloning tol. This is a classic example of not looking through the viewfinder before pressing the shutter: it simply should not have happened. Get it right in the camera.

#4 ... I donlt think the exposure is quite right. A white dress like this is difficult to get right.

Alex:

#1 - great pose, spot on exposure. The wall and the girls stance all add up to a well thought out shot. My only crib would be to trim the left hand side as close as the right to get rid of distraction.

#2 - Who gives a stuff about the feet when you have captured not only some very colourful bubbles but a beautiful look on the young ladies face. The hands remind me of the days when I used to try and capture bubbles - jus love this shot

#3 - Again a well posed shot and although I agree about the crap above and around the young ladies head - just clone it out, that’s what the tool is for.

#4 - A stunning shot and on my monitor the white is spot on. As Gary said, white is hard to capture, but you have nailed this one perfectly. The white is white, there is contrast there which shows definition and the pose is superb.

The point about the background and stuff coming out of her head in shot 3 is a very valid one. I will bin that one.

Gary - all points taken, but I do not agree with your exposure of the white dress comment as it also comes out OK on my monitor. It is certainly not blown, nor is it underexposed. May be you are referring to a slight bluish tint, but that's more a WB issue.

Nice work but I think all of the images would have been improved by bringing the models off the background....by about 20 feet, and using a bigger F stop to throw the backgrounds out of focus. The backgrounds are too distracting and clutter the images.
