Went to Caloundra last week and had a great holiday...

Here are a couple taken from the beach, Have also included a few of the boat at Dickies beach. The last one was taken well after sunset and did a bit of light painting with a torch.

#2 is my favourite, but the lighting in #4 is very interesting.

all of them are nice, and a little unconventional which I like.

Thanks for the comments, very encouraging.

I have a few like #2 on film but who knows where the negs are so thought I'd give it another go. It works much better with a few puffy white clouds and a polarizer but as we know you take the shots you can and if you go out often enough the conditions sometimes come together (like the clouds in 3).

interesting lighting in the last shot.

these are great pics as they are. #3 would have been better IMHO if compositionally the shot was taken lower and closer to the wreck. The streaking clouds and setting sun would have created more mood and atmosphere.

Good sugestion- I can see how that might look better. I did take one with more foreground but in landscape format.(but did get the gull!)

i also tried one with a dominant beach foreground but not sure if it works...

Good feedback- thanks
