Nikon D2Xs HSC mode / 300 f/2.8VR
We could hear the Impala distress call from across the river, but could not spot the Leopard without the aid of bino's. This is quite a severe crop from the image even in HSC mode

Correct
As you can see he was very close to the Impala and well camouflaged
The Leopard didn't move a muscle for the whole 15 mins that we were observing, it had the wind direction in it's favour for that time, with the Impala moving nervously around.
It unfortunately led to disappointment for the Leopard as the prey bounded away.

gulp, my old eyes can't see it, but when you get to the ripe old age of 35, you have to expect some things to not work so well anymore!
