One cock - three takes

This is one of those conundrums that faces me from time to time. I have a subject that appeals and various compositional takes on it and love each. While at Featherdale Wildlife Park today the peacocks were proudly performing for the peahens. This fellow was particular good as a subject and now I can't make a firm choice on which one gets the gong

Peter, the last one (IMHO) is the best of the lot. It looks brilliant!

I like the brighter colours in 1 (but would like to see more of the bird),
I like the full layout of feathers in 2 (but the feathers seem duller).

Can you get the colours of 1 in the feathers of 2?

Well, being the adventurous girl I am, I thought I would open this post, only to be sadly disappointed!

Peter I think what you want is the last one without his feet partially amputated.

Try cropping a little off the bottom and sides of the first.

The second has to many distractions in the background for me.

Beautiful display he put on for you! :D

I like #3...I can see more of the base of the tail, and the neck/head plumage of the bird.

#3 for me- if you let your eyes go out of focus a bit it is quite mesmerising!

the first is great. Even consider a tighter crop with no ground so all you see is the head and the patterns of the tail feathers.

#2 for me, great crop and spectacular colour. Boy, aren't they noisy blighters!

G'day

No 1 for me thanks. And probably a tighter crop with less or no ground, perhaps even a pano type crop.

I guess we all see things differently, my world never looks like a wide angled shot. I'm not the sort of person that sees beauty in a wide vista. I need to break things down into small chunks and focus on details within those small chunks.

#3 for me is the pick of the flock

All are superb.

I'd like to see a more OOF background in #2.
