With all of the posts we have had regarding where and when you can or cannot photograph children I had the delightful job of photographing some wonderful school children. The job involved a brochure for an open school and I had 100% permission to do the shoot. The photograph below is one of my favourites - the little girl was an absolute tomboy but not once would she put her doll down.

Very very nice Chris, I like the way the grass under her feet looks almost like a spotlight.
The only slightly annoying part is the blown highlights on the doll but not much you could do about that.

A great shot Chris... Is that grass at her feet really real, or artificial... I hope this isn't an insult, but it looks artificial...

Leek
It could be a layer of outdoor carpet or tennis court material.
I love thecontrast between the purple shoes and the grass, and the beanie pulled almost past the eyebrows.
Lovely photo Sirhc55. I hope her parents get the photo printed so they can reminisce later when their daughter is grown up.
Cheers and thanks for sharing

Nice pic Chris, well it could be a good add for domestic violence or something simular, young child looking at house mum and dad fighting. Spose picture like that could tell a 1,000 stories.
Just a thought.
LOL

Although this little girl was a tomboy the beanie and the way she looked at you, she was in fact a lonely little soul. The reason I took the pic was because she was looking at her classmates playing together and I think the look (even side on) is saying ”why can’t I play with you?”

Lovely shot Chris.
I'm hopeful this little princess will have many happy times in her life to make up for her sadness now.

The dead autumn leaves add to the loneliness of the scene. Plus the fact that she's standing on one of the few patches of green makes this a great capture.
great eye and great work!

Chris,
Superb image; well done.
And to satisfy those with more primal urges, I'm glad to see that you didn't photoshop out the chains from the swing.

This seems like someone wishing they were somewhere else. Takes a good image to invoke emotional feelings from the viewer... This has so much presence...

Chris,
Nice capture. This photo evokes emotion. I have looked at this photo several times now and it has the same impact every time.
Cheers
