G'day Y'all. Just a few from the weekend.

Had a very scary moment when my 70-200VR fell out of my bag from knee height. I took the lens cap off, and all I could see was broken glass! I had a mini heart-attack, before realizing only the UV filter had busted..

A Nikon rep. happened to be passing by with his mates (all with D300's) and gave me a hand to carefully clean the lens.

Nice shots, although the two dragsters (2 middle pics) don't seem as sharp as the two hard-tops.

I am sure I saw that Torrie down at the shops, chock full of Christmas shopping! That's one hell of a blower. Reminds me of an HG Premier I saw on Cleveland St, Slurry Hills years ago. Not quite as modified (we were behind and I couldn't tell what was poking out the bonnet) but he did have wheelie bars and fuel filters out the back, slightly tubbed and pizza cutters at the front. In relatively heavy traffic, he was trying to move with traffic but had a few problems, given his stall convertor. He would wait till the car in front was quite a few meters forward, blap the accelorator and see the front tyres lift about half a foot in the air.

Very funny, if not fuel inefficient.

Great shot's of the sedan's. However, would love to see clear headder flames coming out of the dragters. Just comparing what I usually see in mags etc. But once again, great shots.  BTW, your pics are alot better than what I can do......

Great story too, Reschsmooth. I've seen some similar wacky things on the streets before!

My Dad and his mates used to (back in the '70s) drive their front engine dragsters down a main street in Castlereagh, pull the parachutes, and coast around the corner at the end of the street where their race car trailers were waiting for them, and then making a hasty getaway so as not to get caught

I love hearing all their stories from back then.

#4 is great, nice and crisp. If you could clone out the person behind the car it would be a perfect shot!

Big Monkey. You don't normally get those kind of flames until it gets dark & it gets pretty hard to take photo's when they're on cause it's so awesome to watch. you don't want to be looking through a little window to see it.
