i test with my stylist Angela all the time to refine ideas
with this shoot we wanted a contrast and dynamic between stark architectural lines and curves(body) to produce something more interesting than the a-typical beach shoot, poses are more high fashion type angular and balanced poses

multiple colour hues for each shot just experimenting on mood

i used a beauty dish as fill flash to lessen the harsh shadows from the afternoon sun, without killing the shadow definition
it has minimal effect but does make a difference*






*you can see dish in the reflection, notice the harsh shadows are lightened to show tone

really loving how you're complementing the lines in the outfit with the posing! lots to learn and note from this for me

#1 and #2 for me are miles better then the other two, just my personal preference but I dig the colour pallet the lighting, the poses, in the first half. It has a certain retro / vintage flavour to it I really enjoyed.

i really like the last one with the square lines in the back ground
[but the spots and hairs on the tiles need cloning out]

I love the first two. The tones, use of shadow and light and the lines are fantastic. There is very much an implied sophistication which works - something along the lines of very high level jewellery/watch/diamond advertisment.

My take

#1 - too harsh and very awkward looking pose

#2 - better than #1 but I find the ’tree’ in the gap distracting

#3 - great pose but awful shadow

#4 - great pose, shadows are right and curves and lines work the best in this pic - love it
