noted that this is a test but not as strong. Were you trying to balance out the lighting or have the sunlight as the dominant light? The second pic is good but wonder if the result would be more emotive if her eyes were looking slightly up (not straight at the camera but also not slightly downcast as it is now)

the sunlight is the rim light the brightest part, the beauty dish fill flattens the image slightly as 5pm sun is quite contrasty, i was going for that look

as a narrative its only half complete as it's just a test

Hi Wendell

I appreciate what you were trying to do but in the 1st, 2nd and 4th pics, the lighting comes across as being too harsh. More subtle lighting would certainly work better, IMHO.

No. 3 is my fave and good luck fine-tuning your lighting.
