Was playing around a little with a reversed 50mm f1.8 and an old Sigma 70-210mm lens and some water drops on a shiny metal surface.
Soon realised that i could see the reflection of things in the drops, so i thought i'd see if i could get my face reflected in them.
Camera is a D300, and light is just from the 4 heat lights in my bathroom.
F32, 1 Second, ISO 1600 (forgot to set it to 200  )
The area captured is about 6mmx7mm
Anyway, comments welcome. I'm still working on a few more of these.
PP consisted of playing a bit with the colour, and just removing a couple of spots.

Yes, its a shiny bin, and yes its toilet.
I tried a couple with my sb-800, but couldn't get them to come out nicely, so i resorted to turning on all the lights in my bathroom. Still actively taking more shots.
Here's how small the area captured is.
The light coming through the viewfinder gives a good indication of the area thats going to be captured. Quite helpful actually.

The final effect is rather creepy. It would make a good illustration for a spooky book. Well done and very original. PS...this is indicative of the quality that can be had with a reversed lens. Regards

Yes, the quality is quite amazing. Also considering i'm using a 10 year old sigma lens.
Focusing is near impossible though. I found it easier to raise or lower the tripod rather than focus on the lens.

Nothing short of brilliance! I like the image, but I agree that perhaps a lower ISO could make it even better and thanks for sharing the secret.
