Freeze between the Flags

Norwalk, Connecticut. Atlantic Ocean to the right of frame. Air temp is a fairly mild -3degC. Not a lot of swimming going on and the ice goes down to within a metre or so of the water's edge with a small strip of sand.

Both shots straight out of the camera with no PP.

A case of the fairly obvious.

Both beautiful images, but the first is my choice.
I love the way the line of clouds and the line of shadow
seem to almost converge, leading the eye down the avenue of trees. :D

Simon, #2 is sweet - seeing the glitter in the ice reminds me of my childhood in the UK.

Excellent pics

Beautiful, both of them.

Simon,

I really like the two of them. The second one really reminds me winter with the reflection off the crusty snow.

Cheers,

André

Thanks all. I can't wait to do some editing work on these, especially to add some contrast in the first one and some shadow detail in the second. I've got plenty more; some of which I'll try to put up over the next few days. Into New york City tomorrow then Vermont but I won't have computer access for a while.

I'm loving the cold but wasn't too keen on shovelling snow off the driveway this morning!!

First one will come up a treat with some PP, already looks good out of camera.

The second one is just eerie, I love the feeling it gives though!

Enjoy your time over there!

I capped it off with a run around the local forest this afternoon with my brother-in-law and his Hungarian Vizsla. Spotted a few deer but they were too fleet to photograph. Plus, the snow depth and hills meant I was too buggered to hold the camera up anyway!

Thanks for the good wishes Bernie - I'll pass them on. Same to you of course.

Thanks Brett.

wow love the first, even without editing. The sky & trees do it for me in this one, even though it is about the life guards chair
