For my daughterI have never done this sort of thing before and with an uncooperative baby found it very difficult, but it was what she wanted, so like any father..........I did it.

Howdy John,
These are fantastic and working with babies can be...challenging however, with patience and a 'can do' attitude you will do it...and you have achieved a great result here! A few suggestions - I think these would look better in B&W rather than sepia, but this is a personal choice I realise. I find the brightness (? blown highlight) of the ring on her finger a bit distracting, also the white on her finger that bub is holding could do with some very mild PP. The 2nd image is awesome, if I had to make any 'constructive' comment it'd be to 'remove' Mum's bracelet on HER right hand, looks a bit uncomfortable for bub, and without it will enhance the 'skin to skin' feel of the moment. 3rd image - love it! Nothing to change. 4th image - as above! Would love to see some more, keep experimenting!! Last edited by Geoff on Mon Dec 17, 2007 9:20 am, edited 1 time in total.

Last one for me, but that is a classic pose that works so well!
I would have been tempted to shoot the second one differently so you didn't have to edit it to take out some bits that you didn't want shown. It is also one I'd like to see higher, so you can see the mother leaning down, perhaps even kissing bubs forehead, this way you can lift bubs up and keep mum's modesty intact. Great tones though. Nice and soft yet still show enough. What were the flash settings? On Camera, off?
Thanks Geoff the colour treatment was what my daughter specified Thanks also for your critque it is appreciated.

A beautifulle shot series John. There all terrific and great memories for your daughter. I think the hands the feet and the face looking straight back at the camera would make a great triptech if i have spelt that correctly. And dare I say it....on ya grandad!
cheers marco
Old Bob you are absolutely right. Grandkids are the reward for surviving parenthood. This is my third.
