Went into the Adelaide Botanic Gardens yesterday with another group of photographers to shoot the Sacred Lotus.

It was very hard to get decent shots of the lotus without ending up in the water. :(

The first two are really lovely in my opinion, the last two have suffered due to the lack of access to the lotus.

Hi Daniel,
nice lotus and thanks for reminding me they are in flower as it only happens for a short time each year , today looks nice and overcast so think I'll pay them a visit . Agree it a real bugger that they can be hard to access - need to take a long hook to turn the flower heads towards the lense.
Waterlillies are nice too center detail on the first nice but the shadow's spoils it a bit but the shadow detail on the 2nd becomes a real feature.

Thanks.
The first two were the ones I had very little access to. I would have liked to get some shots from above.
The second two I actually had easier access, but I was juggling too much photo gear to do it safely. :?

That would be useful.

Thanks. I think I used a bit of fill flash on the closeup shadow, but not enough. I really needed to be using a bounce card a tripod, but I'm not that dedicated. :)
