Well a Leopard of the City Index variety. Crossed the line in 2nd place in the 2007 Sydney Hobart.

The first one was taken with 85/1.4 on D3.

The next two were taken with 20/2.8 on D3. With the cpl on it was vignetteing a bit with the full frame. I quite like the vignette in the final one.

Nice shots John, I'm beginning to see why you like the 85 f/1.4

I agree the vignette in the 3rd looks very good.

They are nice images... I also like the vignette... but do feel that its a tad overdone...

maybe thats just this monitor though.. :)

Gee, there's something about those D3 images. Clarity - depth? I used to feel that about images from the D2X, but this is almost another dimension.

I dunno exactly how to describe it, but it is seriously enviable.

Isn't it just?

John sent me an out of the camera jpg from another image he'd posted, and all I can say is wow!

Thanks for the comments. The vignette was there by accident though.
I'm used to using the 20/2.8 with a cpl on it on my D200. This was the first time out with it on the full frame D3. Can't get away with it on the full frame camera. I'm now looking for a step up ring so I can use a larger diameter cpl.

Cheers
