Hi everyone,
Here is my first real attempt at a macro shot.
It was quiet difficult trying to keep close enough to the bee without disturbing it.
C&C most appreciated.
Cheers
Andy

Not too bad.. specially for a first attempt.. your dof is very shallow though as only a section of the bee is in focus... not that its a bad thing though as often that is delibrate... lovely colours so vibrant.. :)

Andy,

Nice shot, especially the pollen on the bee. As Sue says, a bit more depth of field would have improved this shot. The lighting is pretty good, although I'd like to see the bee a little lighter than it is to bring out the detail on the head.

imo the dof is fine. i like it nice ande shallow. colours are awesome aswell, love the contrast of purple and green. the bee could be a bit lighter, (if you have NX use a CCP and it will bring it out in the blink of an eye), and a different angle would maybe have been more pleasing.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I have to concur I think a deeper DOF would have helped enhance the shot.
I do like the vibrant colour but after looking at some other macro shots on I definately have some more macro homework to do.
