1st D70 shot

Hello,

Tried out my new D70 last Sat at BirdDog's place.

Heard that its customary to post the first shot :D.

Fozzy, used the kit lens for that shot. Thats all I could afford at the moment. :(

Nice to see you have 'joined' us. Congratulations on your purchase and i don't doubt for a minute that you will have many years of enjoyment from the D70.

Hi kfandst

Great first shot. Mine was a disaster but still, in accord with tradition, I bravely posted it here and got a few nice but totally undeserved replies.

On the other hand, your photo is really good. It's in focus, is interesting and has a nice balance to it - and the comments are well deserved.

Well done! :D

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

I would like to make my own newbie comments on my first shot. Does anyone disagree?

- the white bar in the background is distracting.

- rule of thirds suggests that subject should fall on the grid lines. The subject is shot it the centre. Perhaps a different placement could have improved the compostion?

- there is too much dark area in the background.

- foregound leave not blurred enough.
