Taken yesterday before the rain come bucketing down, SLIGHT PP work including crop, mid tone adjustment and contrast. Prize: Knowing that you got it, of course it will be easier to the people that know what lenses I own. Constructive comments most welcome.

Geoff, I've met you at Birdy's but was too busy noticing Bel to notice your lenses
At a guess, judging by the bokeh, it's a prime.... 85mm 1.4 ??

OK, don't know if I've got this right, but having another look at it, it appears to be a pretty good DOF so maybe we should be looking at a wide angle lens.
Forgive my stupidity if I've got the DOF thing arse up !!!

Ok here's a clue - it's NOT a prime (fixed) focal length lens.

Geoff
70-300G? Another example of the great shots you can get from a lens I for one have put aside. In fact in the last month or so we've seen great action shots from Killa, action & static from Sheepie and now this. Really need to get this lens back on my camera.
As an aside - the grevillea is such an interesting plant to photograph close up and you did it justice

The 70-300G is an excellent lens if you know how to use and treat it!, it's the cheapest lens in Nikon range, but it's giving you a stunning pics, it has a limitation and low light same as fast focus are not the ideal of this lens, otherwise it serves you well with its price tag of $120.00 or free if you purchase a new Nikon D70 kit for 2K (D70+18-70Dx+ 70-300G).

Hey Shutterbug,
The lens is fantastic for the money. It is quite soft at times but then can surprise you at the same time. I REALLY want the 70-200VR AND the 17-55DX but they are a fair way off yet, so I'm making do with what I have. In an obscure kind of way, it makes me work a bit harder for that good shot! Not so much relying on the lens but my hopeful ability to take a decent shot. Look foward to your posts with this lens!
Geoff.
