God I have trouble taking 'people' shots, but this one turned out ok

This looks great - I love the B&W treatment and the contrast. Looks like you shot it through a red filter to get the bright skin tones (as far as I understand filters with B&W ) Top stuff.

I agree with Patrick, but....
how much PP sharpening have u done to his eyes?
I think the eye contact is great but it seems to me that it's somehow too sharp...

No filter - was just lucky to have him standing in full sun in the backyard The background has been given a midtone burn to increase the contrast, and the bw conversion was done via the channel mixer.
Geoff - the eyes weren't selectively sharpened, but I did dodge the highlights Too much ??
Thanks again - I'll still stick to bugs and snails  LOL
