These are a couple of shots I took recently. Do they work. Should I PP the Nation sign out? How could I make them better.

I ask because I'm not sure if the make the grade.

Any comments welcome.

The second one works for me (more so if you pp out the writing on the sails though).. the first one doesn't do much for me though as there is just too much happening in the fore and back grounds...

Agree that the second one works best. For me the cropping of the top of the sails is why the first does not work. I would also to the PP and get rid of the advertising on the sail in the second shot.
