Australian Mountainbike ChampionshipsHi all,
I went to the Australian Mountainbike Championships practice runs yesterday and came back with a few photos. I'd like to share some of them with you and am asking for some C&C. Thanks, Christian
Re: Australian Mountainbike Championships#2 would be very good if the hand is not blocking the face.
where is this held? I have not been to a MTB before.
Re: Australian Mountainbike ChampionshipsIt's being held at Mt Stromlo in Canberra. I'm heading down tomorrow for the downhill finals.
I like the third one. How did you find shooting down there? I've tried before and found that it gets really harsh in the midday sun, oh and the cameras don't really like all the dust
Re: Australian Mountainbike ChampionshipsHi,
the Mountainbike Chamionship is held at Mount Stromlo Park. Entry is one gold coin and you can go almost anywhere and watch events. Taking photos is at times tricky as been said, especially in the harsh midday sun. Dust isn't that bad compared to the amount of dust you get at the Canberra Rallye. I'll be heading out today to see the trials. Trials = negotiating bike over some very hefty obsticle courses (I wouldn't event want to WALK those). The last day of the event is Monday 28 January. Cheers, CD
Re: Australian Mountainbike ChampionshipsG'day Christian.
#1 has no reference point, no motion. Very sharp, but no oomph. #2 Nearly excellent, but the arm across the face hurts it. (It's like shooting basketball - I've lost coult of the otherwise excellent shots I've had to trash because of the arm hiding the face.) #3 Oh yeah. Motion blur in the wheel, the lot. Good stuff. cheers, juice

Re: Australian Mountainbike ChampionshipsThanks for the feedback.
Yes, the arm got in the way BTW, I cropped the first shot delibarately in such a way that there was only sky in the background - it was a test. I had more luck today with some of the shots - ladies cross country, down hill race and trials. I haven't processed the photos yet but will post them later. Regards, CD
Re: Australian Mountainbike ChampionshipsHi everyone,
here are the ladies going cross country. Thanks for looking and again please C&C. Regards, CD
Re: Australian Mountainbike ChampionshipsReally nice, #1 & #3 especially.
