Looking south from Cape Arnhem, down the western Gulf of Carpentaria (Arafura Sea). 12 shot pano, 50mm, portrait. I wanted more cloud in the shot but unfortunately I hadn't realised the tripod moved off level and I was shooting at an angle :( I've since gone and built some sand feet from an old plastic chopping board.

Twin Eagles, near Cape Arnhem
(single image - horizon is a little skew  )

Between the islands (10 shots - 18-200VR @ 18mm). Before anyone jumps in and says, the centre's not right; you are correct and I need to fix it.
Image

South of the islands (9 shots - 18-200VR @ 18mm). Bit washed out in colours.

I think they all would have benifited from a CPL - guess what I left at home!

Oh wow... these bring back some memories of traipsing around in my Dad's old 4Wd up that way.. *sigh*..

Wonderful images... I really enjoyed them... and oh my you must have some patience to stitch that many pics together! :)

Aaahhh, the wet season. Doesn't it open up some opportunities for something different in the top end.

I actually saw some clouds and rain the other day, but no camera at hand. I think that'll be it for the year.

After having sailed past that area several times it is nice to see it from ashore. Thanks for sharing your terrific images.

<mod hat on>Please note our forum image guidelines. Max image size should be no more than 800 pixels and, yes I know what that means for panos  <mod hat off>

These images are well composed and stitched. Of these #1 is the weakest (it looks chopped at the top -I'd like more cloud and less foreground, but that's just me) and #4 the strongest despite the chopped clouds (go figure). I like the subtle tones in #4 which enhance the pristine feel of the image.

Regarding your comments about a CPL - for pano shots this should be avoided because the differing polarisations will be noticeable when you stitch.

Apologies, will note for future reference. Thanks for reminder, size corrected.

Yes, #1 is chopped at the top by about 20% from what I intended (more clouds) I'm hoping to revisit the area in a few weeks but doubt I'll get such a calm day.

Didn't consider that about the CPL, I was thinking as long as I didn't change the rotation it would remain as is but of coarse light being light it wouldn't. Thanks for bring that up.
