Cue the dreamy music - turn the lights down low ....
gaze lovingly into her eyes, and then jump on her and don't let go !!!!!

Hi Andrew - yep :), and Mark - you are a sad puppy ;) LOL

We went out last night as we had some pretty good rain (55mm overnight), and our local stormwater retention basin is a great place for frogs.
L.caerulea were going off absolutely everywhere - I was actually photographing the green male calling when the female came through the grass, crawled over my foot and head butted him LOL. He jumped straight on, and the rest is history ;) LOLOL

We also had L.fallax, L.rubella, L.dentata, L.gracilenta, Opisthodon (formally Limnodynastes) ornatus, Limnodynastes peronii, and of course toads.
Wasn't too bad for a man made retention basin in the middle of suburbia :)
Hugs
Rel

Oh I didn't know that you shot porn Rel.. :P

So love is in the air and the pond too apparently... and nothing like a little outdoor swamp sex to get a frog going huh?... Did you feel a little perverted spying on the poor defenceless frogs like that or were they happy to have an audience... *nods*...

Another great capture Rel... and I want to say once again that you need to start getting these in a stock library... you might be surprised by the demand for good images amphibian images like yours... :)
The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but it's still on the list... ;)

Some times it is hard to imagine where they all go and hide till it rains.
Nice pic again Rel.

- I actually picked up the male before the female arrived, and it was like he was in a trance - just kept on calling while he was sitting in my palm. After the shot, I thought I'd see how they'd react if I picked them both up - same thing - didn't blink, didn't move, just 'stuck together' :)

lol - pretty sure into our next door neighbours shed downpipe judging by the noise when it finally does rain ;)

- we were lucky and found the outlet to our local stormwater retention pond - when it rains, we have now discovered it is pure froggy heaven !!!!!! We only found out about it the other night - got home really late, had heavy rain in the afternoon and were just about to go inside to sleep when we both looked at eachother and said 'chorus !'. Needless to say, went inside, changed out of our 'good clothes', grabbed some headlamps and the camera and went off looking - ended up being about 1.5km away from home, so you can imagine how loud the chorus really was !!!! The bizare thing about it was we've been here for 5 years, and never heard it before !!!
