Re: Valentines's Day tulipsnice light, could improve background (either black or white may be better). Lucky for some!
Interestingly my first post (I think) was tulips just like these!! http://www.dslrusers.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=21913&p=257408&hilit=tulips#p257408
Re: Valentines's Day tulips
Your shot is very nice too! I used 3 flashes: one from left and in front with a LightSphere; and two from the rear, each at 45 degrees to the flowers. The backdrop is a plain wall that is actually white. The light falloff rendered it this colour, which I quite like. TFF (Trevor)

Re: Valentines's Day tulips
Hey I didn't realise you had used 3 flashes! I wouldn't even know how to set up such a shot!! Great stuff. Anyways I thought I would do a few more shots the next day (from those Tulips) but alas they were dead the next day and not very photogenic at all!!
Re: Valentines's Day tulipsNow I realise why the flowers look quite 3D, it must be the light coming from at least 3 directions.
Thanks for sharing your technique cricketfan, BTW have you been watching the cricket? There is one game on today...
Re: Valentines's Day tulips
When I'm not taking photographs, I'm watching the cricket! Hence the Valentine's Day flowers! TFF (Trevor)
