He's a lovely fat bumble bee.
The colour of those flowers is gorgeous too. I believe they are Salvia
Would love to see more shots from the Hobart Botanical Gardens if you have them as I don't get down there too often.
(Hint: I'm particularly fond of the Oak trees)

I like this - a great use of the fisheye - it really makes the bumble bee the centre of attention. I didn't know we had bumble bees in Oz

I'd forgotten about Bumble Bees in Tassie. They are great little guys, but I think they on the AQIS hit list.

Yes, there are Bumble bees in Australia, but they prefer cold climates I believe. I don't know how they got here.

I love playing with the 10.5mm. It is interesting what effects I can get. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. Bees don't mind it either.

The minimum focussing distance for the lens, a few centimetres.

haha thats the fattest bee ive ever seen... wish we had some of those where i live to photography (then again... maybe not)
