nice light, could improve background (either black or white may be better). Lucky for some!

Interestingly my first post (I think) was tulips just like these!!

Your shot is very nice too!

I used 3 flashes: one from left and in front with a LightSphere; and two from the rear, each at 45 degrees to the flowers.

The backdrop is a plain wall that is actually white. The light falloff rendered it this colour, which I quite like.

Hey I didn't realise you had used 3 flashes! I wouldn't even know how to set up such a shot!! Great stuff.
Anyways I thought I would do a few more shots the next day (from those Tulips) but alas they were dead the next day and not very photogenic at all!!

Now I realise why the flowers look quite 3D, it must be the light coming from at least 3 directions.

Thanks for sharing your technique cricketfan, BTW have you been watching the cricket? There is one game on today...

When I'm not taking photographs, I'm watching the cricket!

Hence the Valentine's Day flowers! :wink:
