Some people from A Current Affair dropped by the pits today...

They were there to do a story on Amanda Shepherd...

The lovely lady from ACA got to sit in the car while Amanda showed her around...

Before she knew it, the crew had started the car; and with Matt's hand reaching for the hat, he revved the guts out of the 8000HP motor!

It blew her mind...


They decided to film Amanda's race shortly after, in which she ran a 4.96 @ 296mph (477km/h)!! Her first ever 4-second-pass, which not many people have done, yet she's only 19!

Congrats Amanda, top notch!

Nice series glad you posted them .I can't get there this weekend as I have a commitment at the bikes also at the Creek. Post some more later.

Nice candids. That last one with the TT reporter flabbergasted is cool. Amanda Shepherd is cute too. She's a lot better looking than most dragster drivers

Good series - Running a 4 sec pass, what skill she must have, not to mention an awesome support crew to prepare the car. A feel good story.

I didn't plan on doin' the candid style shots, but didn't have a choice as there were a number real togs around in prime position, which is fair enough.

I'll let you know when they air the story on TT

Thats impressive - would scare the be-jesus out of me. Not to mention what it would have done when I was 19!

Nice shots - did well to capture the expression on the presenters face.

Awesome serious, the last shot is the definitive, Oh My Goodness moment!

Love the last shot. It's one of those right time right place moments. I can imagine she was blown away by the experience. Just watching them is enough to send shivers down your spine!
