Mt Gellibrand- the North face

G'day all, first chance to post a beginer's pic from 12-24mm DX lens. Straight from camera - no editing (bar re-size) I'm rapt. It appears to be a little sharper than the Kit Lens? Distortion is not an issue. The "Mount" is an inactive volcano in the Western District just north of where I live. It's on a property where I 'do' the garden. I think the lens frame fits this hill in nicely? With skies like this - who needs a polariser?

I agree with you Matty - the 12-24 DX lens is a bottler.
And so is this photo!

Being a 12-24mm fan I agree this is a bottler of a shot. I really like the cloud formation and it also shows how dry it is in the bush still

Thanks. Yes, i have a good vibration already from this new lens! It seems to be very close to human eyesight range in it's angle and pan. At full frame (12mm) images feel very easy to take in.

Chris - you got in before I replied last time! It took me 2 hours to get this image on D70 users tonight - 3 drop outs and a speed of 3/3.2 kB/sec! Things are dry in the bush and the phone lines are ......f.............not suitable for any sort of reliable internet service!!

Thanks Glen, I do appreciate your comment. On hot drying days such as today we get this lovely upper atmosphere cloud which is ripped along by some seriously fast wind up there. It's a sky look that I adore and is often found in the interior. The dry air effect gives a deep azure to the roof without having a filter do it for you.

Love the colors and cloud formation in this. The extra width is certainly showing well here, hmmm after seeing this I can feel that dreaded lens lust swelling again!

That's one hell of a garden!
Nice image..the sky works well...but you saw it and shot it. Nice lens too. I am looking forward to seeing more of your posts.
