High contrast B&W

Yup, I know it's a shot that everybody probably does when they're new, so I'm new and I've done it. What I'd apprecite are tips on how to do it better.

I like this image. Like the interplay between shadow areas and highlights.

I thought of that, but I like the way the list just goes on and on. I've tried removing the line in the blockwork but I don't have that looking good. I have cropped off the top 5% though which takes out the top block so the list is without end.

Thank you :blushes: , The D300 is suiting me much more than the D70S ever did. Somehow the controls just seem to be in right places and I can make whatever adjustments I want with little effort or fuss.
