Some sunrise shots

Took some shots at Fairy Bower this morning. Unfortunately the sunrise was a little disappointing. Not a lot of colour, and I had a hell of a time juggling the dark and light portions of my shot. Maybe one of those cokin filter doohickeys is in order.

Here are my best shots, such as they are. Had to desat a couple of them as the blown highlights made a horrible splotchy mess of the sky. Any suggestions from the sunrise veterans? There's a couple of things I'll try different next time...

Hi Des,

Nice work! U should've called me I would have joined you! :)

I think because of the lacking sun in the first one it looks a bit err....bland..that's not to say I don't like it. I think too it works better cropping out the foreground rocks...(try it!)....

Sure is a beautiful part of the world though :)

I like your shots, dispite no blazing sunrise. The foreground makes the photo, in my opinion. You can never predict what a sunrise or sunset will present you with.
