Masked Lapwing

Here are two shots of Masked Lapwings. The first is of an adult and the second is a juvenile.

Thanks for the comments.

Not sure if these are actually related to the Plover. When I was growing up I always knew them as Plovers but the bird book I have says they are Lapwings. Also, I seem to remembery reading on Wikipedia once that they are Lapwings formerly known as Plovers.....

Nice shots Paul - the background is almost as if they are underwater :)
Bernie - same bird, that's where common names aren't so great - so many names for the same animal :)

Paul,

Nice clean shots with great sharpness and fantastic background.

Only nit I have is the feet have been chopped off (even if you can't see them). This is more obvious in the first. Note that I don't mean that they are hidden in the grass, but rather they go off the bottom of the image.
