Can't find a crop - Grand Temple in Bangkok

There is something about the simplicity of this little guy with all the gold and intricacy behind him that really appeals to me (and the look on his face cracks me up! )

I've tried heaps of crops and still can't find one I like more than the full image.

Any ideas?

I know this little guy :D

I met him 3 years ago.

I've "played" with your photo and If I may, I'd like to suggest to consider, if avaialable to you through Adobe Photoshop the following:
Filters, Lens correction, Transform vertical perspective - by using this option, straighten the vertical lines.
I also cropped the foto a little, so that this guy is a little more to the left instead of dead center and I also cut a bit from the top.
As a result his presence has "increased a little.
Let me know if you would like to see the result.

Cheers,
CD

I think it's hard to crop because of the angle you took the photo and the the DOF of the photo itself. The background is quite distracting IMO. If you want to keep the golden tower in the back, you might want to use Photoshop to:
blur the background a little bit
crop the photo from the left base of the statue to the right window of the golden tower (Keep the full height of the photo)
use lens correction to create some vignetting to focus the viewer eye on your subject

Hope this helps :D

Thanks Christian, Looks good

I got some other angles but could get over to his left (the side you took your from) as they were doing some restoration. It was a pity cause all my others have his arm blocking his face

I took the liberty to do a rough crop and blur just to show a different view. I am sure you can do better, but it will give you an idea.

Thanks Zafra, I like that one - the extra blur helps him stand out more
