Happy Easter

The photograph was taken by Robert C. Fitz-Walter using an instamatic
film camera eight years ago. He suggested to show it as an appropriate
image for the week and asked to make it digital. I scanned it
from the negative, cropped, cleaned and I adjusted the
colour and sharpness in Photoshop.

The Holy Week (Semana Santa) in Spain, and in
particular in Seville is a bombardment to the senses
of colour, music, the occasional songs (saetas) and
people wearing their Sunday best. It is a real cultural and
religious spectacle. Each day at different times religious
images and icons are taken from their church into the streets
in processions and accompanied by their brotherhoods with
great pomp and circumstance.

Thanks. You wouldn't believe the scratches, dust and what looks like hairs on the negative. Obviously the minilab in Spain did not consider dusting or cleaning their own equipment.
